Family History

Hey guys! What's up? How have you guys been? I've been pretty good. This week there was a lot of fun stuff that happened!

First of all, family history is being pushed by our mission president so we get a little time every day to do that. I am so grateful for the opportunity because knowing more about my family is so sweet! On Saturday there was also a family history conference in the area next to ours called Granbury! Elder Hunt and I went over there and helped get everyone signed in and there was a really good turn out! A lot of nonmembers as well as members! It was great to see them all united! The Spirit of Elijah was definitely there! I invite all of you to find out more about your family history if you haven't already!

Besides that, we had a pretty normal week. We had Granbury come and blitz our area! That was a lot of fun and we found a few people from it! We had our first lesson with these two Spanish people who moved in with their member son! They are from Mexico and teaching them the restoration was so fun! I love teaching people! It´s so fun to see there faces light up when it connects with them!

The transfer is going by very fast and I cant believe it! We are already in the last full week! Stephenville is the place to be! I think that I'll stay here one more transfer but it is hard to tell. I still have to finish training Elder Hunt so we will see!

Scripture of the week: Alma 34
9 For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made.
10 For it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice; yea, not a sacrifice of man, neither of beast, neither of any manner of fowl; for it shall not be a human sacrifice; but it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice.

The Atonement literally encompasses EVERYTHING. If we can all remember why Christ sacrificed himself then there won't be a day where we feel like we aren't worth anything, there won't be a day where we let ourselves carry a burden around for something we did when we know it can be taken from us. Through Christ, we can ALL be healed. Let him into your life. He loves you and wants to help you. Don't hold a grudge against someone, forgive! that's why the Atonement is there. Christ's power is enough for you to do so.

I love you guys. Let me know what's up with you guys!

Elder Hayes
